About

YachtingWe are an old and well established model boat club that meets and sails on the pond within Queens Park, Pollokshaws Road, Glasgow. The club meets twice weekly, Tuesdays and Sundays, throughout the year. During the summer we meet between 7pm and 9pm and during the winter we meet in the afternoon, 2pm till 4pm.

As a club we would welcome anyone who is interested in model boating to come along on one of our club days where you will find a great number of people who are only too willing to chat and tell you what we are all about. If you drop in you will find that our members build and sail various types of models, from warships to merchant vessels as well as tug boats and fishing vessels. We also build and sail model yachts and regularly put on model boat shows throughout the summer months.

The club also sits on GCC Land Services Park User Group and the Scottish Federation of Model Boat Builders. The latter keeps us in touch with other clubs throughout the country while the former keeps us informed about local issues and issues surrounding the park and its use. Recently we secured funding from the GCC South Area Committee to make internal improvements to the Clubhouse and purchase new equipment for the shows that we organise.

We welcome new members (subject to an annual membership fee) and visitors alike and look forward to seeing you in the future.
